Prose & Verse Submissions
RBE requires all submissions be preceded by a query. Material submitted without a query or permission will be deleted unread and unanswered. Submissions will progress through three separate rounds.
Round 1 – If RBE is interested in seeing more of an author’s work after evaluating the query, RBE will request the following additional information specific to the submission:
· A full synopsis of the work(s)
· A full list of recurring characters (with their motivations and story arcs)
· A specified number of words
· Sundry other requirements
Round 2 – If RBE is interested in seeing more of an author’s work after evaluating the material provided by the author in Round 1, RBE will request either the complete manuscript or additional components thereof.
Round 3 – If RBE is interested in publishing an author’s work after evaluating the totality of the material provided by the author in Rounds 1 and 2, RBE will offer the author an initial contract for the author to consider. While RBE strives to ensure equal and favorable treatment of all its authors, every contract is negotiable and shall be settled on an author-by-author basis.
When requested, submissions should be sent in the following format:
· Via email to editor@<remove>roguebladesentertainment.com
· As a .RTF file (complete manuscripts should be in a single .RTF file)
· With a subject heading stating: Submission RBE – *Type of work – *Title of work
o Type of work = Anthology, Collection, Verse, Special Project (as defined by the RBE response requesting the submission)
o Example = Submission RBE – Art Collection – Works of Joe Artist
· Unrequested submissions will be deleted unread
Every effort should be made by both author and RBE to retain all emails pertaining to the work beneath this same subject heading for ease of communication.
