RBE July 2010 Update
Whew! Been a bit since I’ve posted here. For what it’s worth, the RBE Fan Page on Facebook has been getting its share of attention, with updates and commentary from RBE and fans much more frequently.
News galore!
- Demons: A Clash of Steel is out and available for only $13.00! 28 stories of demonic behavior and battle wrapped in a Johnney Perkins cover; every reader is sure to find a favorite tale in this smorgasbord of delights!
- Assassins: A Clash of Steel is open for submissions, and will close when filled but not before October 1, 2010. Think you’ve written that perfect tale that can slip right through all the competition and nail one of the acceptances? Then send in the first 500 words and let’s both see what you’ve got! A:CoS will be available in May 2011.
- Challenge! Discovery needs some attention! The writing competition – offering prizes of publication, copies, critique, and cash – runs through September 1st, with a target of at least 30 submissions. To date, RBE has received lots of comments, messages, and emails that stories are being written, stories are coming, ideas are looming…but so far only 3 actual submissions.
Current tasks/works in progress:
- Mythic Memories – An awe-inspiring collection of mythic verse celebrating the traditional gods and legends of four cultures – Egyptian, Celtic, Norse, and Greek – from the creative talents of Alex Ness and Trent Westbrook.
- Roar of the Crowd – The latest, greatest annual RBE anthology, the 2010 signature title filled with 17 tales of historical ham-stringing, sword-swinging, crowd-pleasing thrills from more than a few well-known names.
- The RBE Bookstore is operational after being rebuilt several times yet still needing a redesign. Purchasing RBE titles and products directly from RBE is the best way to show your appreciation and support!
- Yet to come: Novellas, short story collections, even nonfiction – every reading entertainment imaginable!

Goodness, Jason, you have quite a lot on your plate. I’m impressed at how you are managing to juggle all of that and still put out some real quality products. Keep up the great work!
While we are at it, add my name to the list of people who promise are working on stories for you but have yet to deliver!
With more than a month to go there’s plenty of time, though I imagine many folks are thinking the same thing and we’ll be deluged with submissions come end of August. All is good though, and the more the merrier, eh?
